A POWERFUL PRESENTATION - The Ultimate Trade Show Success Series

MAKE YOUR PRESENTATION A MEGASENSATION

Professional speakers and trade shows
Professional speakers draw larger crowds

Having a captivating presentation, that educates the audience about your company’s products or services, is the best way to achieve trade show success. The key to making this work is to make the presentation fun, enjoyable, and entertaining while delivering your company message.

The presentation should conclude with a call to action. What is your goal with the presentation? If your plan is to scan badges that must be worked into the closing. If the presentation is not entertaining, you will risk losing the audience.

Presentation Tips & Tricks

Practice your presentation
Rehearsing your presentation makes a big difference

Your presentation should be well scripted and rehearsed. This is not a time to wing it. The presentation must focus on the benefits for the client. Remember WIIFM.

You must have a plan, before the show begins, for how you’re going to flow from the presentation into your lead fulfillment plan. This should occur naturally and be a part of the script.

Use Lock-in Devices

A lock-in device is something that you hand out to members of the audience. By asking someone to hold onto something, it will lock them in, and keep them from leaving. They’ll feel that they have an invested part in the show or presentation.

I use this all of the time on the trade show floor. I’ll hand an item to someone during my performance and say, “Please hold this for me. It’ll be important in a minute.” That person, and their group will have too much invested interest to leave. They just need to find out why they were holding it.

Who is Your Presenter?

Effective trade show presentations

If you have someone on your staff that happens to be an excellent public speaker, then they might be the right choice. The tricky part is that being a great speaker does not generally equate to being able to draw a crowd.

Speaking and attracting a crowd are two completely different skill sets. If your goal is to get the maximum number of qualified leads, then you might want to hire a professional.

Hire a Pro to Boost Traffic Flow

Professional speakers at tradeshows

A professional trade show presenter will have several skills that most people are lacking. Here’s a list of skills that you should look for when hiring a trade show presenter:

  1. They’re able to attract a crowd.

  2. They’re able to entertain and keep the crowd.

  3. They’re experts at integrating your company’s message into their presentation.

  4. They’re able to run the audience through your lead generation system.

Without a professional trade show presenter on your team, you will risk losing many of your potential client leads. If you’d like me, or anyone in my network to help with this, just let me know. I have connections to the best trade show presenters and entertainers in the industry.

A Few Tips to Make your Presentation POP

  • When designing your booth, incorporate a performance area.

  • This should ideally be at a corner of your booth for maximum visibility.

  • Have a 12-to-24-inch platform for your speaker to stand on.

  • Use a high-quality sound system and microphone.

  • Have a sign that shows the time of the next presentation.

  • Incorporate your giveaways into the presentation.

  • Use social media to advertise and help create a buzz that a “show” is happening at your booth.

  • Before the show your presenter should meet with your booth staff, and everyone should be on the same page regarding your lead fulfillment plan.
